Horror film
We are told that horror films are the only real viable genre for low budget or independent productions. We've all seen the endless posters for movies about demons, witchcraft et cetera, and heard the mega-hit stories from movies like the Blair Witch Project, Paranormal activity, Saw and so on.
The rhetoric is that horror fans are so loyal and dedicated that it's the only genre able to in any consistent way recoup a production budget, but is there something else going on? Are there really enough of those die-hard horror fans out there, or is it possible, given that Hollywood is a psychological operation that there is something else going on?
What horror movies promote
- Participation in witchcraft
- The implied power and invincibility of demons
